To date, Dan has been credited in 25 films and has 16 years experience in the field of Visual Effects. He also has 2 years experience in game. Here are a few production examples he is most proud work.
Jungle Cruise
Industrial Light & Magic was tasked by Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra to craft the film’s four cursed conquistadors—Spanish explorers rendered immortal but ‘made up’ of elements of the jungle.
I was involved with helping with the creation of the Mud conquistador. This involved sculpting the aged and damaged body armor.
I was also tasked to work on the Rock's head and body and integrate it into our pipeline. I was also involved in shot modeling final shots which included the final Vine Wall scene.
The IrishMan
I was very proud to be a part of the ground breaking Visual Effects Team at Industrial Light & Magic. Under the watchful eye of production visual effects supervisor Pablo Helman, the visual effects team created 1,750 visual effects shots for Martin Scorsese’s epic three-and-a-half-hour drama, The Irishman. The film received both Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Best Visual Effects and won two Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards including Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Feature and Outstanding Compositing in a Feature.
I was involved in helping the final facial performance during the shot modeling phase. This involved shot sculpting on top of facial animation to take it to a finished level.
Aladdin
I was part of the Visual Effects team at Industrial Light & Magic that helped bring this story to life. I helped model various assets such as Aladdin, Iago the parrot, and The Cave of Wonder.
Modeling Aladdin involved sculpting his face based off of ICT data and creating a set of FAC based shapes for his facial rig. I was also responsible for creating his street clothes outfit as well.
I also was given the opportunity to model and create face shapes for Iago the parrot. The final look involved working closely with the hair team to achieve the final feathered look.
